Longford Park is a vibrant and popular public space in Stretford. There are lots of things to explore in the park and many organisations and clubs also use the park as a base or meeting point. The Friends of Longford Park are a proactive group of volunteers who give their time to make sure that the park remains an interesting and valuable community resource. They have for example, recently raised funds and commissioned the various carvings that visitors can now see around the park – including the Manchester Bee carving, commemorating the 22 innocent lives lost in the Manchester bombing on 22nd May 2017.
The Friends of Longford Park have recently produced a leaflet about the park that includes a map of the attractions.
